We require an experienced Credit Controller to play a proactive role in managing cash flow and collecting debts.  The candidate must understand the importance of cash flow and have the following skills / qualities:

Specific Duties:

  • Process new applications for credit, carry out appropriate checks and set appropriate credit limits
  • Ensure terms are in place agreed with both parties and refer any deviations to SLT.
  • Set up new customer accounts and record relevant information as notes.
  • Monitor credit limits and update as appropriate.
  • Ensure orders are processed and invoices are issued promptly and accurately to minimise payment delays.  Check for any errors and omissions which may lead to late payment.

  • Chase payments proactively according to the terms agreed.
  • Chase in a professional manner and keep accurate records of all customer contact.
  • Resolve queries in a timely and professional way with reference to Account Managers and Senior Management where required.
  • Issue credit notes where appropriate with reference to Senior Management.
  • Monitor and question any divergence from usual payment patterns.
  • Determine the best method of dealing with late payment on a case-by-case basis
  • Be able to deal with challenging problem-solving situations in query resolution.
  • Determine and put in place the most effective sanction on a case-by-case basis in the event of debts significantly overdue.
  • Issue a final demand when all other courses of action have been exhausted
  • Refer a debt to General Counsel or Solicitors’ collection where absolutely necessary.
  • Access bank statements and accurately process cash receipts on a daily basis.
  • Send monthly statements of account to all customer with open items
  • Report to Management on a daily, weekly and / or monthly basis as required
  • Any other duties as will be required from time to time, such as helping with Audit requests.
