24/7 applications that users expect
Proact has been the trusted IT partner of Gemeenschappelijk Computer Centrum (Municipal Computer Centre), or GemCC for short, for many years. Despite a limited budget, the service provider still wanted to set-up an optimal storage environment. Additionally, GemCC wanted to introduce new, high quality, networking equipment and a Wi-Fi network.
GemCC is responsible for the IT in the municipalities of Appingedam, Delfzijl and Loppersum. Various other municipal institutions, such as the Inter-municipal Social Services, are also affiliated with the GemCC network, whose main location is in Appingedam. In total, more than 700 employees log-in daily, generating and saving data.
High quality technology within budget requirements
Easy to manage
Components available via a single dashboard
Citizens and employees can access services 24/7
As a consequence of mergers and other business activities, the number of users logging-in and generating data everyday had significantly increased. Therefore GemCC sought a flexible storage solution that could grow with the organisation, while meeting tight budget requirements. Furthermore, the switches in GemCC's network were out-of-date, causing delays within the IT infrastructure. The Wi-Fi network also needed addressing as the existing set-up was complex and time consuming for administrators.
Proact designed and implemented an optimal storage solution which suited GemCC's limited budget. Tailored around the organisation's environment, the new solution, which also integrated networking and Wi-Fi components, made daily operations easier to manage due to the use of a single dashboard. The infrastructure platform was also built to be flexible and secure from the ground up, and was underpinned by support from Proact's experts.
That's the nice thing about the services from Proact: the customer decides.
