Worldwide Proact private cloud solution
Holland Colours is a typical “follow the sun” organisation: the working day begins when the sun rises in Asia and ends when the lights go out in America. In short, the company is running 24/7. The IT environment therefore cannot rely on the staff working at the Apeldoorn headquarters. To ensure business continuity across all parts of the world, Holland Colours sought an IT partner for complete support of its infrastructure.
Holland Colours develops, manufactures and sells solid and liquid colour concentrates, master batches and solutions for hard and flexible PVC colouring. As well as supplying the construction and construction industries, the firm also caters for the packaging and dyeing industries plus producers of silicone sinks and adhesives.
Respond directly to organisational changes
Easily scalable pay-per-use model
Service quality defined by experience
Working on the concept of best efforts, the IT team in Apeldoorn had to support requests from all over the globe, and as staff weren't available round-the-clock, business continuity was often effected. Therefore Holland Colours wanted to address the dependence placed upon its headquarters. The IT department sought a solution that had one contact point, and which could address the management of all infrastructure components.
Proact designed and implemented a hybrid cloud solution based on FlexPod architecture: a complete solution consisting of network, storage, compute and security with products from market leaders Cisco, NetApp and VMware. With this solution, all components are pre-validated and matched, allowing for a fast installation. Based on an Infrastructure as a Service model, this bespoke architecture integrated with a Proact data centre for backup (Disaster Recovery as a Service and Backup as a Service), with support being available from Proact's experts 24/7.
Our strength lies in supporting the business, not in managing the IT environment. We appreciate that Proact has better management knowledge than we could ever have.
