Storage and backup, all in one
The IT department at SCAN COIN is made up of three people who deal with most infrastructure issues, as well as serving a total of 400 users. That's why the cash management company wanted to streamline its IT architecture, simplifying administration so internal resource could concentrate on projects that add real business value. SCAN COIN has been redesigning its entire IT infrastructure over the past few years, in parallel with work to centralise its systems.
Based in Malmö, SCAN COIN develops custom solutions for effective cash management, from individual coin or note counters to complete hardware and software systems. Most of the company’s products are exported. IT used to be managed locally across 15 European countries, but operations have now been centralised to the head office which runs all business-critical systems.
Powerful systems through market-leading technology
Stores and backs-up growing amounts of data
Safe information with replication technology
As part of its infrastructure redesign project, SCAN COIN wanted to introduce virtualisation technology and did so with VMware Horizon View at a previous stage. The company also wanted to deviate from its traditional hard disk storage method, and sought a best-fit storage solution to cope with its increasing amount of data. Additionally, SCAN COIN sought a partner that could help with its disaster recovery operations, ensuring the availability of information in the event of IT failure.
Proact introduced a NetApp All-Flash solution to cope with SCAN COIN's storage requirements. The new solution has enhanced performance, and has increased the speed of the system dramatically. Proact also implemented a disaster recovery platform which uses Zerto replication technology in addition to providing 24/7 support via Proact's Premium Support service. With Proact's help, SCAN COIN is now well equipped for the future.
We are pleased to have Proact as a partner. We deal with people we know, and things always go well when we contact them for support.
