Proact introduces state of the art storage solution at TateDownload the case study
Painting a modern storage picture
When Tate wanted a partner to help increase its storage capacity, there was no better choice than Proact. With a network of four museums – Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool, Tate St Ives and Tate Modern – the non-departmental public body has to handle a large amount of data and therefore needs a reliable and flexible storage environment that can cope with increasing demand.
Tate is an exempt charity so any solution had to meet strict budgetary requirements while also being able to support day-to-day business needs and the Tate Online platform, where visitors prepare visits to the physical sites.
Unified storage with optimised costs
Specialist on-hand 24/7 to identify and resolve issues
Able to handle growing amounts of data
With a prominent need for an efficient storage platform, Tate sought a partner with advanced NetApp knowledge to provide “like for like” technology which complimented its existing environment. Tate wanted to continue modernising its storage infrastructure using NetApp equipment, streamlining the environment and catering for increasing amounts of data.
Proact introduced a new NetApp shelf and array, meaning Tate can take advantage of a unified storage system that propels efficiency in terms of resource and money. Storage administrators will benefit from a simplified environment which allows them to concentrate on strategic projects, as well as accelerated application performance and optimised storage costs.
Since the implementation of the new storage solution, everything has worked as it should with no issues whatsoever, so all in all a good job well done.
