Tatra Trucks finds the right technology and partner combination
The Czech vehicle manufacturer, Tatra Trucks, ranks amongst the oldest vehicle manufacturers in the world. With over 116 years of continuous activity, the firm has had considerable influence on the global automotive industry.
To remain competitive, Tatra Trucks needs reliable IT operations that support its efficient production method and sales growth. The company’s known for its high quality and reliable services and vehicles, so its IT infrastructure must enable all its products and processes to meet these high standards.
Efficiency improved by automating server recovery
Complies with data retention policies
Capacity, performance and security can be scaled
Tatra Trucks was struggling to incorporate effective data backup processes as its environment comprised of virtual servers on both VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V platforms. As the infrastructure at Tatra Trucks used technologies from a variety of vendors, the vehicle manufacturer sought an expert partner who had experience and advanced knowledge across all platforms.
Our technical specialists designed a platform, based on Veeam backup software, that was a perfect fit with Tatra Truck’s goals and existing IT infrastructure. Our solution was based on a Backup-to-Disk-to-Tape (B2D2T) process with a dedicated disk system, just for backups, and a tape library. All the virtual machines in the VMware and Hyper-V virtual environment allow Tatra Trucks to achieve a high level of granularity.
Selecting the most suitable technology doesn’t mean you’re done; you have to select specialists who can use the technology and understand it.
