Virtualisation
Seamlessly connecting legacy and cloud worlds

Two worlds. One partner to help you unite them
Because of the numerous benefits it offers, virtualisation is fundamental to every modern IT infrastructure. But not every environment can be virtualised. Every organisation has to deal with at least one 'old world' application that has to work safely and reliably in the new, cloud world. We understand both worlds and use this expertise to connect them to deliver the one solution that's right for you.

The benefits are real
Virtualisation enables you to use capacity efficiently. You can deploy less hardware (saving money) and deploy required capacity faster and more easily. You save time, not having to manage an increasing number of physical servers. You enjoy increased availability and reliability. And virtualisation also helps you move to the cloud, provides scalability and flexibility, and offers more DR and migration possibilities.

How Proact can help you
We help clients design and build high-quality virtualisation platforms on which their applications and services can run stably. We use tried-and-tested technology from three of the field's major players: VMware, Microsoft and Citrix. Though we work with all three, we are completely independent and therefore better able to recommend what works best for you.

VMware, Microsoft and Citrix
VMware is one of the best-known companies and was the first manufacturer to enable virtualisation on the Intel platform. Through its successful software and services, the company has managed to capture a huge market position over the years. Microsoft offers Hyper-V, a strong alternative. And Citrix is mainly active in the area of virtual desktops, offering solutions that are often the basis of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

Why Proact?
We know both worlds – legacy and cloud – from within. We connect them based on our expertise and work closely with you to determine which technology suits your needs best. The final choice will be down to you and your requirements, but we'll advise, not only based on technology and features, but also based on budget, supported operating systems and your plans. We're always happy to discuss your options. And where necessary, we offer a Proof of Concept (PoC) to demonstrate the proposed choice works.

What our customers had to say
Proact has extensive expertise in the fields of virtualisation, backup and managed cloud services, and has provided qualified advice on solutions and opportunities. Choosing Proact as a partner was an obvious choice as we continue our journey towards the hybrid cloud.
John Andersen, Head of IT, NEXT
There are masses of advantages of using virtualised clients. The most obvious, perhaps, is the fact that administration will be a lot easier. When updating computers, we used to have to update each and every computer individually. Now we can handle updates centrally. Proact has been an important part of this project, helping to create a consolidated, virtualised and modern IT environment. The great thing about Proact is that with them, we get the best of both worlds; benefits of scale such as round-the-clock support alongside a close, personal relationship.
Magnus Carlsson, Head of IT, Blekinge Institute of Technology
