PPS Group had been operating on an IT infrastructure that was no longer supported, while some systems were gradually migrated to the cloud. Over time, it became evident that cloud services were not always the optimal solution. The existing infrastructure was slow, difficult to manage and demanding to maintain – both from a hardware perspective (limited availability of spare parts) and a software perspective (end of support and missing updates). The company required a modern, secure and reliable solution capable of supporting critical applications and preparing the business for future growth.

Modern Dell and NetApp Infrastructure
“Following the replacement of our IT infrastructure, which was implemented in close cooperation with Proact at an exceptionally fast pace, new opportunities opened for us. As a first step, we began migrating all virtual servers from the legacy infrastructure and gradually prepared the environment for the migration of servers from the cloud. We are currently facing the challenge of replacing our entire ERP system with a more modern, higher-performing and more accessible solution, which will operate on the new Dell servers and NetApp storage,” says Tibor Tanyasi, IT Manager at PPS Group, a.s.
PPS Group has gained a modern, high-performance and reliable IT infrastructure built using best-in-class Dell and NetApp technologies, both well proven in engineering and manufacturing companies. Dell servers deliver high performance and dependable support, while NetApp storage arrays enable flexible and fast data access through both file and block protocols. The new NetApp AFF series is built on the modern PCIe 5, ensuring fast communication between servers and storage systems – preparing the company for further digitalisation and growth.
The infrastructure includes 3 high-performance virtualisation servers, 4 IP switches and 2 storage arrays. The primary systems are located at the main site, while the secondary NetApp system is deployed at a backup location to ensure high data availability. Support for both block and file access enables efficient data management in a virtualised server environment, and 25 Gbps switches provide sufficiently fast and reliable data transmission.
